As a globally active enterprise, KAEFER is also engaged with international associations serving the distribution and sharing of knowledge and the advancement of technical know-how.
The chairman of the GEC of KAEFER, Peter Hoedemaker, is the president of the European parent organisation of national insulation associations, FESI (Fédération Européenne des Syndicates d´Entreprises d´Isolation), an association of very special importance for the harmonisation of technical standards and best practice directives in Europe.
Particularly in the Acoustic Commission of this association, a great number of KAEFER discoveries have been used, which resulted in a marked advancement and greater knowledge and performance at European level.
FESI was founded in 1970. Sixteen national associations are members, representing a total of 3300 insulation enterprises with a work force of 47.500.
The most recent KAEFER initiative to advance the general knowledge of insulation and energy-saving technologies and to further the public awareness of CO2 saving possibilities through insulation, is the co-founding of EiiF, the “European Industrial Insulation Foundation”.
A total of eleven founding members provided the capital for this foundation, aiming at an increase in the perception and awareness of the huge energy saving potential that could be realised through improved insulation of industrial installations.
The apparently most important reason for increased insulation efforts in this
area – apart from all considerations of environmental responsibilities – is the almost unmatched short capital-return period through energy savings of each and every insulation investment.
The expected increasing energy costs will certainly reinforce this effect in the mid and long term.
