FAQs

What are the advantages of vocational training at KAEFER?

Vocational training at KAEFER is of a very high quality because ...

  • Apprentices are taught in special classes and, in addition to the professional knowledge required, also learn business English and IT basics.
  • Theoretical and practical know-how is taught in a modern training centre.
  • The on-site phases provide a good insight into everyday work and apprentices find out exactly what awaits them after their training.

As qualified construction workers, the apprentices generally have good employment opportunities. Plus, KAEFER only trains as many apprentices as are needed in the company. That means the apprentices have a good chance of being taken on after training, if they perform well.

Apprentices at KAEFER work in an innovative, international construction company.

After successfully completing an apprenticeship, there are good prospects for professional development within the KAEFER Group (e.g. specialist, foreman, site manager, construction manager).

During their stay in Bremen, the apprentices at KAEFER learn to look after themselves and to assume responsibility.

How often and for how long am I in Bremen for the theoretical part?

Practical and theoretical phases alternate throughout the entire apprenticeship. In the first year, the trainees are in Bremen for around 25 weeks. In the second and third years, the trainees work more on site and are therefore at home more often.

Where will I be living?

Apprentices are accommodated in two-bed rooms at the cross-company training centre Bau-ABC in Rostrup. For the time they attend vocational training school in Bremen they live in KAEFER’s own flats.

Does the company pay for trips home?

While living in the Bau-ABC, we pay for one trip home per week, and during the vocational training school phase, for one trip home every three weeks.

Do I get any other benefits?

During the training phase in the Bau-ABC, apprentices receive free board and lodging. The company also pays for travel within Bremen to the vocational training school.
