In 2001, KAEFER introduced a special apprenticeship model for insulation technicians and interior outfitting technicians – the centralised apprenticeship. The centralised apprenticeship means that all apprentices from different locations in Germany go to the same vocational training school in Bremen and take part in extra company training run by the construction industry association at the training centre Bau-ABC in Rostrup near Bad Zwischenhain. During the periods of practical training, apprenticeships work on building sites in their local area.
During their time at vocational training school, the apprentices live in shared accommodation provided by KAEFER. They learn to take care of themselves and to take responsibility. While in Bremen, the apprentices are, of course, supervised and the training staff are also there to help if required.
During extra company training, the apprentices learn manual skills which they will later apply on buildings sites.
Our apprentices’ newspaper describes the apprenticeship model and the apprenticeships in detail. The newspaper also contains lots of other useful information about centralised apprenticeships at KAEFER.
